Dogs as Fonts Poster | grafisches büro
I mean, c’mon who doesn’t like a poster that mixes dogs and typefaces? I’d love an original print of this.
Census Dotmap | infographic
Nothing crazy going on here, just a gorgeous matrix map. Every person counted by the 2010 US and 2011 Canadian censuses. The map has 341,817,095 dots - one for each person. Zoom in it’s pretty wild.

Check out this site, it’s just amazing. Taking parallax scrolling to a new level, although it gets a little wonky when you resize the window to be very small. With great design and planning comes great results.
Birth of a Planet | Space.com
This is just a remarkable image, something I have never seen before. Astronomers studying a newborn star have caught a detailed glimpse of planets forming around it, revealing a never-before seen stage of planetary evolution.
Large gas giant planets appear to be clearing a gap in the disk of material surrounding the star, and using gravity to channel material across the gap to the interior, helping the star to grow. Theoretical simulations have predicted such bridges between outer and inner portions of disks surrounding stars, but none have been directly observed until now.

Really impressive calligraphic work here. The author of the article where we found it says:
We are so concentrated on typography featuring European characters that we forget there’s the possibility of having great typography from other cultures too.

Oh my, these are so awesome.
